My distributor isn't computer controlled, it's an 'old style' GM HEI with weights and springs inside to manage the ignition curve.
I don't want the Accel DFI to control the timing.
I'm useing the Accel DFI for fuel control only.
Heck, lets say that someone has a point style distributor with an external coil.
What wire from the ECM harness would you connect to the coil negative connection?
The kit has plenty of adaptors, PDF pictures on the CD, printed instructions (there is NO 1-way brown connector on my harness)
I've even seen a training notebook on this thing.
(see 1.4.5.2.2 Distributor Wiring) FYI, there is no purple wire either.
None of this is clear on what wire (I'm sure it's only 1 wire) that the ECM needs to get a tach signal to know the engine is running, and or the RPM.
Can somebody help me clarify this connection.
I'm 1 wire away from starting this car or toasting a brand new ECM.
Thanks,
ElectraJim
